Merry Christmas: Jomo's Got a Surprise For You

Merry Christmas: Jomo's Got a Surprise For You

To assist as many of you as possible in staying focused at work or during work, we've decided to introduce Jomo on the Mac (and for our Windows friends, a Browser version is planned for early 2024). We took the time to ask YOU what mattered most to you, and many of you requested an app for your Mac to block distractions.

We took the time to ask YOU what mattered most to you, and many of you requested an app for your Mac to block distractions.

Nowadays, whether you like it or not, distractions are everywhere, accompanying us at every moment of our day.

It starts with ads in the subway, on our phones, where the feeds have no end, and every piece of content has just one objective: to make you stay a little longer. When you get to work, it's hard to switch to 'work' mode, as distractions are still there, just a few centimeters away. But the truth is, even if you don't see them, they never really leave your mind.

Since 2022, we've set ourselves the challenge of helping everyone reclaim their time, too often lost or stolen by certain platforms. Between notifications and apps designed to be ultra-addictive, many of us found our time sucked into the vortex created by our phones. In October 2022, we launched Jomo: the ideal companion to help you regain control of your (screen) time. And after just a few months, we've been selected by Apple in the "Top 15 apps created by women: Best apps for taking care of your health" category.

The Cost of Distractions

Our concentration is constantly being put to the test because distractions aren't just on our phones; they're not limited to mobile devices. Emails, messages, Slacks, DMs... sometimes we just don't know where to turn! And then there's the Internet. The Internet is both our best and worst enemy. If you've never consulted a personal website during your professional time, raise your hand ✋!

For our HR readers, it's estimated that only 23% of employees are genuinely engaged in their work every day. Companies are estimated to lose $8.8 trillion as a result of disengagement. But why? A disengaged employee has poor concentration, constantly distracted by what's going on around them. And every time they're distracted, they lose an average of 23 minutes!

Because, with Jomo, we've helped thousands of people rethink their relationship with the telephone and set limits on certain uses that have become problematic, we've decided to go even further!

Jomo Is Now Available On Mac

To assist as many of you as possible in staying focused at work or during work, we've decided to introduce Jomo on the Mac (and for our Windows friends, a Browser version is planned for early 2024). We took the time to ask YOU what mattered most to you, and many of you requested an app for your Mac to block distractions.

So, for its first release, Jomo brings you the most popular blocking rules from its mobile version:

♾️ Permanent session

Many of you have loved the concept of Conscious Use, so we've integrated it right into V1 on Jomo. Now you can block the apps of your choice by default and choose to use them by taking a (limited, of course!) break.

🗓️ Scheduled Sessions

Protect the key moments of your day from distracting or invasive apps! When you're at work, block personal apps, and when you're resting, block business apps!

⚡️ Immediate Sessions

Need to concentrate 200% on a task, but you're constantly being disturbed? Block parasites and leave only the essentials activated.

Recreate and rediscover your Jomo habits as you like them, but on your Mac! If you're a regular user of the app, rest assured that everything works the same (including Strict Mode).

Jomo: Not Just An Ally For Work

Being fulfilled at work isn't just about being focused; it's also about respecting your work-life balance. It's about protecting yourself from professional spillover into your personal life. As a reminder, in France, since the 2016 La loi Travail, all companies must implement solutions to respect their employees' "Right to Disconnect" and enable them to cut off professional reminders during their recuperation time (evenings, weekends, vacations). And this can impact the employee's commitment to their work... So opt for Jomo and block your work apps when you're in rest mode. Don't be tempted to check your emails on Sunday mornings or late at night.

Remember: Your phone, your Mac, your rules.
